Product Review

Salvajor has a played a leadership role over the years in the development of efficient “garbage” systems.

Starting with a cast aluminum housing, Salvajor approaches it’s line of disposers with innovation. The housing, that maintains the same size no matter what size disposer you choose. This allows for them to utilize production efficiencies focused on customer demand and state of the art machining techniques. Salvajors auto reversing function also doubles the life of the grinders by equalizing the wear.

Efficiencies of the disposer line include an 86% energy efficiency on average, but is highlighted by a 97% efficiency on the 7.5 HP model. Water conservation is achieved by a water restrictor that is built into the unit itself, thus eliminating the chance that it would be left off or lost at install. Using only 5-8 GPM during operation Salvajor is built to utilize water most efficiently. Salvajor also has one of the shortest, 45 to 60 second, fresh water clean out after the disposer is turned off. The ARSS control panels also include an auto-off timer which saves water by insuring the disposer shuts off in case it is left running after use.

Beyond the Disposer

Two other star products that Salvajor produces is their ScrapMaster and ScrapCollector series’. The ScrapMaster triples the scraping speed of dishroom staff without utilizing any more water than a typical disposal. Recalculated water at the rate of 7 GPM in and 7 GPM out and a dish soak area sufficient for soaking trouble dishes while in operation. Available in several configurations to accommodate plate service, tray service, or even sheet pan size sink sizes. The ScrapCollector recalculated 30 GPM through a plume or trough.

One of the key quality controls Salvajor has is the attention they put into the assembly of their own control panels. This increases their efficiencies. Utilizing a non-compacting form seal they were the first in the industry to make a water tight panl that met NEMA 4 standards.
